LET’S CONTINUE; BEING GREAT MOMS!
-by Anna Currier
It is the week before Christmas and it is supposed to be the happiest time of the year! Full of joy, full of cheer, full of festivities and fun. I had big plans this week to bake, decorate, make neighbor treats, clean and organize my whole house!
My plans changed when I got sick. I was forced to rest, recoup and rely on A LOT of tv for my kids! It was not the week I wanted or planned for but the kids were happy and smiling with the littlest effort I could give. I had many thoughts of failure, I was hard on myself and mad for getting sick. Being a mom is hard, being a mom and being sick is even harder. Being positive on ourselves is even hardest of all. But we have to remember, we are simply doing the best we can and that is great. No matter if plans have to change, give what we have to our kids! It will be enough! So we need to continue being great Mom’s and continue to give ourselves some grace and relief.
And as we go through the rest of this week, let’s celebrate the small victories and embrace the simple treasures and celebrate the joys of the holidays. And remember it is ok to take a break, need a nap, or put on too much TV for your kids! Just enjoy being together celebrating Christmas and continue making memories!
